Born and raised in Massachusetts, Steven Derocher earned two bachelor’s degrees from UMass Amherst in English literature and studio art with a concentration in digital design. After graduation he took a job in an art gallery, working with local artists, designers, and conservators. Steven also managed a team that fundraised for progressive nonprofit organizations.
After he moved to Boston, Steven focused on his technical skills, specializing in web design and development for organizations that included Tufts University and thoughtbot.
In 2010, Steven arrived at MIT as the IT manager for the IDM, SDM, and LGO programs. His role includes full-stack design and development, information technology management, and systems administration.
In his spare time, Steven enjoys working on vintage cars, sailing, and doing just about anything that involves repairing the old or making the new. He lives on the North Shore with his wife and two children.
