“Now it is time for me to start creating the products that I have always dreamed about. But great technology does not sell without a great design.”

Inspiration for Andrea’s first invention came from weekly tennis matches with her family. Why collect tennis balls all over the court when a robot could make that task so much easier? The chance to join a robotics research group as an undergraduate made that vision for a solution to the problem a reality. Since then, Andrea has used her professional experience in electronic engineering to create prototypes and continue looking for innovative solutions to help people with common problems. Being part of the MITidm program means she will enhance her engineering, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as gain essential knowledge of producing quality products, keeping sustainability and human-centered design in mind. Andrea has a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in her native Colombia.
