“Restraining forces are simply obstacles. Design offers a framework for effectively identifying what they are and removing them to meet a need.”

David views every experience as informative and lives for moments of understanding — when the solution he’s been focused on finding suddenly clicks into place. Designers and researchers who work in tandem at every step of a project’s process would find those instances of clarity more often and with more accuracy. As a social scientist, David wants to solve the world’s most pressing issues by applying design principles while working with the diverse team at MITidm, whose members are as passionate as he is. He was a double major at Goucher College, graduating with degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies.
