“I am very much concerned about users, their needs, barriers they encounter, and the need for innovation to fill their emotional and physical gaps.”

As both an undergraduate and graduate student in Iran, Ameneh found ways to improve lives through design. She focused on people with physical and intellectual disabilities, assessing their daily obstacles and creating innovative solutions to help them become more self-reliant. Because of Ameneh’s projects, children who couldn’t — or wouldn’t — eat on their own could use a special plate to motivate themselves to finish a meal. Visually impaired and blind adults could more easily access taxis for independent travel around the city of Tehran. Ameneh hasn’t lost the drive to creatively solve similar challenges for others. Ameneh has a Bachelor of Arts from Tabriz Islamic Art University and a Master of Science from Amirkabir University of Technology in Industrial Design.
