“There is no better way to learn than to interact with diverse thinkers from different disciplines. Making an impact in design is about collaboration.”

As an industrial engineer, Javier is confident in his ability to think critically about concepts and challenges, as well as analysis and processes. But becoming one of the most influential design professionals in his home country of Mexico requires stronger problem-solving and leadership skills, which he developed in the MITidm program. As a next generation designer, Javier is focused on modular product design solutions that will transform Mexico’s environment and society, where design impact experts are needed to address issues such as public space, waste management, and transportation. Javier has a Bachelor of Science from the Arizona State University Fulton School of Engineering.
