Born in Sri Lanka as an only child, Sal has always been a tinkerer and designer. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2014, and as an engineer, Sal has vast work experience at companies such as General Motors, Apple, and Microsoft. But his passion is not consumer electronics. Sal has lived, studied, and volunteered in various countries around the world, strengthening a commitment to help people and communities that cannot help themselves through positive environmental and economic change. He believes a focus on inefficacies in the healthcare industry will make the greatest impact. Sal wants to dedicate his engineering skills and design experience to solve human problems by creating products that don’t forget our humanity.
