I didn’t choose IDM, it chose me

I realize now that I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for when I was thinking of going to graduate school. Then I went onto the IDM website and it had the three circles with the heart in the middle. That heart was telling me so much about how it was a very emotion-driven program instead of just data and knowledge driven. To me, that heart represented things that are worth making, because anyone can make great products. I don’t think we need more great products. We need to change the way we design and make things, in the first place, and provide vital products and services to more people. For me, design and business have always been this pursuit for fairness, a more just world. The IDM heart represented all that.
