Alan is passionate about philosophy and ethics at the intersection of technology and society. His previous work experience has focused on software engineering for two startups – Petuum, an enterprise AI/ML software development platform based in Pittsburgh; and Metaculus, a community prediction platform for rating the likelihood of various technological and scientific outcomes. Personal experience has also raised Alan’s awareness about the important of civic engagement, and he wants to create meaningful products that help those less privileged live better. Alan graduated from Duke University with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
