Before arriving at MITidm, Jiani was an award-winning industrial designer and an engineer with a focus on consumer products and services. She has also had several design concepts exhibited internationally and covered by social media. Jiani has applied a humancentered design approach to solving complex problems and designed dozens of products in consideration of ergonomics, materials, and manufacturability. Challenges in delivering quality healthcare have captured Jiani’s attention for the next stage of her career. She aims to use her skills to address geographical disparities and limited resources that prevent patients from receiving optimal postoperative care. She received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China.
