“Listening is a core component to design and the most important way to tackle big issues and treat society’s illnesses.”

Always interested in medicine and health care, Lara likens entrepreneurship to being a doctor of sorts: After listening to ailments or problems and identifying pain sources or challenges, you come up with a diagnosis or analysis and determine a cure or solution. Lara has a strong interest in healthcare and discovered it’s not just about medicine, but also about society and culture. Switching focus to venture capital gave her a first taste of design thinking and an education in how it can transform a team, product and vision. Joining the MITidm program has given Lara the opportunity to take on solving problems as an entrepreneur and build new skills to blend mission with innovation and attack problems that matter. Lara has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from Stanford University.
