“I know that the problems I want to solve are ambitious. I am passionate about applying design and technology to systems . . . to overcome long-standing inequities.”

As social problems become more complex and intertwined, it’s more important than ever to develop systemic solutions instead of addressing the individual symptoms of a problem. One particular experience working in public health and human services brought this issue to light for Zack when he realized that a mobile application he helped create was only a tool for child protective services staff to do their jobs, not a mechanism to prevent child abuse. Zack’s career goal is to build a holistic approach for designing products, policies, and services to address the root causes of socio-economic discrepancies, education discrimination, and healthcare inequality. Zack graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
